A native of San Antonio, Texas, Gina left the great state of Texas to pursue a college education at the University of Las Vegas in Nevada with an academic interest in the Hospitality Industry. She felt that the best place to gain this education and work experience was in the Adult playground of the Hospitality industry…..Las Vegas.  Gina resided in Las Vegas for three years and during that time was employed by The Mirage Resort and Harrah’s Las Vegas. She was apart of the pre-opening team for Harrah’s Shreveport Casino. With a 15 year tenure with Harrah’s Entertainment, she held several positions in the Sales & Marketing arena’s; Sales Manager, Advertising Manager, Direct Marketing & Teleservices Manager, Central Division Director of Database, and Regional Director of Database.  In 2006, she left the casino industry to focus on her family life and joined a reputable printing/direct mail company as Director of Casino Services/Sales where she focused on selling marketing services to area businesses and the regional gaming industry.  Recently, Gina decided to leverage her 19 years of Sales & Marketing experience by venturing into her own business, The Latin Connection, LLC. The Latin Connection offers one-stop shopping for all of your marketing and entertainment needs by providing products that include but are not limited to printing, direct mail, signs, banners, media placement, Spanish translations and entertainment booking.

Gina is a member of the Executive Committee as Past President of the Hispanic Business Council, an affiliate of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, is on the Board of Directors of Cinco de Mayo Inc., and is a past President and active member of LULAC Council #16001, Latinos Unidos del Norte Louisiana. She also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Shreveport BNI Closers Chapter and VP of Marketing for the Shreveport-Bossier Attractions Association.  She received the 1997 Estrella de Oro Award by the LULAC/Cinco de Mayo organizations for her dedication, commitment and success of the annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Recently she was presented with the 2007 VIVA (Very Important Volunteer Award) by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce for her outstanding service. And In 2009, she was awarded Vita Latina Hispanic Social Leader by the Latin Community.  She is extremely proud of being Latina and of her Mexican-American Heritage.  Serving on these organizations allows her to give back to the Hispanic community and be a part of bringing cultural awareness of the Hispanic culture and be a part of assisting young Latinos in the state to pursue higher education.
